This is to be a fun event for
participants and spectators. All efforts will be made by officials
and participants to make it fun. All behavior shall be of clean
family nature. Dangerous maneuvers such as intentional ramming will
disqualify the boat. All participants shall be in a physical
condition as to safely operate their craft, therefore water fights
are not generally considered dangerous.
This intended as a downwind race,
so starting line and finish line may not be established until race
time. Distance may be around 100 yards or more (subject to wind
conditions). Because of variable wind conditions it may be helpful
to learn about sailing. Many publications and schools offer such
help. Samples of online information can be found here:

around 1:00PM (Thanks to the

other road access will be blocked. All vehicles must be out of

someone sells you a boat worth $9,000,032 for $1 it may not
enter the race) In general use garage sale values for the
components that make up your craft.
Boats may
not be powered by means other than wind. (Energy storage
mechanisms, motors, rockets, and nuclear power plants are not
allowed.) Paddles, oars or other hand operated propelling
devices may be onboard for non race maneuvering, but must not be
used to propel the craft during the race (unless the Judges
decide the wind is too light for sail.)
Boats will
be disqualified if the Judges feel it's too dangerous. The
winning boat from previous Aquafest events may not re-enter.
All
participants must wear
Coast guard approved type II or III PFDs (Life Jackets.)
