Volunteer Award Winners...
Aquafest takes
hundreds of volunteers to make each annual event successful.

Grand Parade
is waiving late fees! We’re waiving the late
entry fees for 2010!! That’s right – the 2010 Fabulous Fifty
Aquafest Board is accepting ALL entries as EARLY BIRD! Time’s a-tickin’,
so get your entry forms in today – here’s how: either postmark
completed, signed entries and insurance documentation to Foster
Press in Lake Stevens NO LATER THAN Friday July 16th, OR
hand-deliver completed, signed entry forms and insurance
documentation no later than 3:00 p.m. on Monday July 19th c/o Lake
Stevens Sewer District, 1106 Vernon Road, Lake Stevens. If you wish
your entry to be judged, please help us by making sure your entry is
received by these deadlines Remember, the Parade starts promptly at
1:00 on Saturday July 24th. Email

Carnival Offering Military
Discounts Aquafest is proud to
announce that Davis Shows Northwest will be offering discount
carnival tickets $18 to all military personnel during Aquafest 2010.
Military families simply go to the main office of the carnival on
the carnival grounds and present your military ID and request the
specific number of tickets for your immediate family.
These
discounted tickets are good all day-everyday during posted carnival
hours. Questions or concerns, please visit the
main office of the carnival. Davis Shows Northwest reserves
the right to refuse service to anyone.
FREE Aquafest
Horse Drawn Wagon Rides by Sandy Thomas
The horse drawn wagon rides are back again this year. Be sure to
come to the City Hall parking lot and get in line. Each trip takes
about 15 minutes and there is plenty of room for the whole family.
You can watch the happenings on the lake while cruising in the wagon
down Lakeshore Drive. And remember, THE RIDES ARE FREE TO THE
PUBLIC. The horses DO like carrots however!!!! Photos are
welcome. And the kids can pet the horses.
I have been around horses my whole life. They are a true love of
mine and always will be. I used to trail ride exclusively but then
in 1998 got into driving horses and found that was a fun and
rewarding way to play with my pet pals. I started acquiring more
and more types of wagons, carriages, sleighs, and carts. After
driving around the neighborhood for many years I decided to start a
business so I could share my joy with others. So, in 2005 I started
Gala Carriage Company offering horse drawn wagon/carriage rides
throughout all of Western Washington .

Having lived in Lake Stevens since 1974, I am ashamed to say I
had never gone down to see what Aquafest was all about. But I
decided to contact the Aquafest Board in 2005 to see if there was a
place or need for wagon rides at the festivities. I was too late
for 2005 but did get in for 2006. I attended all meetings and soon
realized what I had been missing. Aquafest is an awesome event and
community effort. I have been an active board member and sponsor
ever since. The people, the town and the community are what quality
of life are all about!!!! I’m so glad I am able to be a part of
it and will continue as long as I am able.

2010 Aquafest Teen Dance First Heritage
Bank and the Lake Stevens Boys are
Girls Club are excited to host the 2010 Teen Dance, held
Friday night, July 23rd at the Boys and Girls Club on Main
Street. Refreshments and entertainment provided. DJ will be taking
requests. Join us on

of Aquafest
Welcome,
Dave West, the 2010 Voice of Aquafest! Dave will be updating
events, announcing results and interviewing festival attendees on
Main Street throughout Aquafest weekend,
July 23-25. Stop by and say hello!
Information Booth Located on Main
Street in front of City Hall, the Information Booth is your one stop
for event schedules, location information, security questions and
event registration forms. Joyce Bell, 2010 Aquafest Grand Marshal
and Donna Foster, 2010 Aquafest Secretary will be there to assist
you throughout Aquafest weekend. Stop in and say hello!
ASK ME! To make your
Aquafest weekend as enjoyable as possible, look for any Aquafest
board member wearing a sky blue shirt. Ask Me! board members will
be able to assist with basic medical needs, lost children, security
questions, event schedules, communication issues and location
information. Remember to Ask Me! if you have a question.

Local Businesswoman Awarded 2010
Aquafest Grand Marshall With
unanimous support, the Aquafest Board has chosen Joyce Bell as
2010 Aquafest Grand Marshall.
“It
was perfectly clear that the board wanted to honor Joyce for her
commitment to Aquafest as well as her devotion to Lake Stevens,”
commented 2010 Aquafest President, Janice Huxford.

2010 Grand Marshall, Joyce will be at the center of our 50th
